AT&T HO Hopper

Introduced in 1967, American Train & Track (AT&T) offered HO-scale freight car selections imported from Austria to North America. These Roco-made freight car models saw inclusion in other hobby company catalogs, including AHM, Model Power, and others. The very common to the hobby four-bay offset-side open hopper car found a place among AT&T’s HO-scale freight car models. This version included separate gates on the bottom of the bay doors on the model’s underside. In addition, the plastic body shell received a separately applied brake wheel. The model’s metal weights appear on the underside of the sloped outer bays. A molded black plastic underframe runs down the center of the bays and the model includes friction trucks with X2f couplers. This model carried a $2.49 suggested retail price in the late 1960s.
