Ulrich Trailer-On-Flatcar

Ulrich introduced this HO-scale trailer-on-flatcar model in 1956 with four releases. While Ulrich’s offerings prior to this were kits only, buyers could purchase this freight car fully assembled. The ready-to-roll model came equipped with “NMRA couplers” (meaning X2f couplers) and listed for $4.50. The flatcar was offered in kit release for $2.25. The road names in 1956 included Baltimore & Ohio (PF1), Southern Pacific (PF2), Monon (PF3), and Santa Fe (PF4). the road name reference the decoration on the trailer model, which was Ulrich’s 35-foot example.
